In Fort Lauderdale, Fla., more than an estimated 1,800 patients have been warned and notified that they may have been wrongly exposed to diseases such as HIV and hepatitis. This story is crazy! I can't believe she did that. My husband was amazed as well. You did a great job writing this story without putting your opinion in there, it's so hard for me not to on these cases. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWith AP style, “Fla” needs a period after the abbreviated state and comma to separate it from “more.” In the second sentence, it sounded like the nurse retired, the hospital was named Qui Lan and it had maybe closed. But, I think Qui Lan is the name of the nurse and the hospital is still in business. Also, a comma should go before “which” in the last sentence. Rebekah, I’m really impressed you could condense the long CNN story into 50 words because I have a lot of trouble with condensing. Your summary really got my attention, too. Qui Lan may have been a good nurse before, but she is obviously showing signs of early dementia or severe reactions to stress. It's a good thing she retired.
ReplyDeleteWow, this story is really scary. In the health community it's so important to know who your doctors and nurses are and make sure they know what they are doing. My mom is a nurse so I'm already a germaphobe, but this story really opens your eyes!
